China Fengfei Aviation's eVTOL completes its maiden flight across the Yangtze River
On August 1st, China Fengfei Aviation Shengshilong eVTOL electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft completed its first flight across the Yangtze River. It took off from the Nanjing unmanned aerial vehicle base located in Pukou District, Nanjing, flew over the Yangtze River and circled along the river before returning to the base. The distance was 25 kilometers and the round-trip flight time was 10 minutes.
Fengfei Airlines' flight achieved the first cross Yangtze River flight of eVTOL over tons, and also depicted a new vision for low altitude travel and cultural tourism in Nanjing, a historic and cultural city in the future.
Fengfei Aviation's prosperous dragon flying over the Yangtze River is also a new exploration of typical eVTOL scenarios. There are more than 20 central cities along the Yangtze River, and cross river transportation mainly relies on the Yangtze River Bridge. The construction cost of each bridge ranges from billions to billions of yuan, but there are still many areas that cannot be covered. EVTOL cross river flight can make travel on both sides of the Yangtze River more efficient and convenient, with a 5-minute direct journey and a natural barrier becoming a smooth path!
In the future, Fengfei Aviation will also work with partners to empower new quality productivity with eVTOL technology and open up new business models in low altitude economic application scenarios.
